The Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow invites applications on prescribed form for the positions of Professor/ Additional Professor/ Associate Professor & Assistant Professor in the Departments as mentioned below:

- Professor : 09 posts (UR-9) in various departments
- Additional Professor : 02 posts (UR-2) in various departments
- Associate Professor : 05 posts (UR-5) in various departments
- Assistant Professors : 66 posts (UR-39, SC-11, OBC-17) in various departmen
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule of Part II of third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act. 1956 (Persons Possessing qualifications included in Part II of the third Schedule of the said Act, shall also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of the section 13 of the Act. Aforesaid). A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D. /M.S. or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. Candidate should have completed total 14 years, 10 years, 06 years and 03 years of teaching and/or research experience after prescribed post graduation at a recognized teaching Institution for Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, respectively as on last date of submission of application OR 12 years, 08 years, 04 years and 01 year of teaching and/or research experience after obtaining the degree of DM/MCh. (2 Years duration ) in the concerned specialty at a recognized teaching Institution for the post of Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor respectively as on last date of submission of application OR 11 year, 07 years , 03 years, 0 (nil) teaching and/or research experience after obtaining the degree of D.M/MCh. (3 years duration) in the respective specialty at a recognized teaching Institution for the post of Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor respectively as on last date of submission of application.
In subjects where Post – Postgraduates qualification is not yet prescribed by MCI, three years post M.D/M.S experience in concerned specialty as Senior Resident at a Institute recognized by MCI for the purpose will be accepted in lieu of such qualification for the post of Assistant Professor. For non-medical posts not covered under MCI, Ph.D. with requisite years of teaching and/or research experience of 03 years, 06 years, 10 years & 14 years for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Additional Professor & Professor respectively in a recognized Institution will be required. Prescribed duration of experience will be determined as per Institute rules.
PAY SCALES :
Assistant Professor- Rs.15600-39100 with academic grade pay of Rs.8000, PB-03; Associate Professor-37400-67000 with academic grade pay of Rs.9000 PB-04; Additional Professor - 37400 -67000 with academic grade pay of Rs.9500 PB-04 & Professor – Rs.-37400- 67000 with academic grade pay of Rs.10,500 PB-04 Plus NPA and other allowances as per Institute rules. Lecturer – Rs.15600-39100 Grade Pay Rs. 5400; Tutor – Rs. 9300 – 34800 Grade Pay 4200. New pension scheme of the Govt. of U.P. will be applicable for those who were not in pensionable service of U.P. Government or its undertaking on or before 1st April, 2005.
UPPER AGE LIMIT:
50 Years as on last date of submission of application. Relaxable for Govt. Servants/Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/other Backward class as per rules and for exceptionally qualified candidates.

Director reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason. All disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Hon’ble courts at Lucknow.
Deadline for submission of the completed applications is 28th February, 2011 for applicants within the country and 7th March, 2011 for overseas candidates.
