Applications are invited for the two year M.Sc. in Sericultural Technology course commencing from September, 2008 at Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Mysore - the only ISO 9001-2000 certified Training Institute for Sericulture in India.

This course is affiliated to the University of Mysore.

Minimum qualification for admission is B.Sc. Degree with any three subjects as optionals - Sericulture / Zoology / Botany / Chemistry/ Bio- chemistry / Microbiology / Bio-Sciences / Bio-Techndogy / Environmental Science or B.Sc. Agriculture / Sericulture.

B.Sc. with Sericulture as cognate subject will be given preference.

The candidates applying for admission to M.Sc. Sericulture Technology course shall have obtained a minimum of 45% marks (40% in case of SC and ST) in the cognate / non-cognate subjects of all the three years of qualifying examination.

For non-deputed and non-inservice candidates sericulture shall be considered as cognate subject in addition to other subjects mentioned above studied as optional.

Number of Total Seats - 20: General category - 07, Schedule Caste - 2, Schedule Tribe -1, Inservice - 5 (Sponsored from Central Silk Board and other State Sericulture Departments), Foreign candidates - 5.

Please send a crossed DD for Rs.100-00 in favour of “The Director, Central Sericultural Research & Training Institute, Mysore - 570 008″ and a self-addressed stamped (Rs.30.00) envelope (25cm x 19cm) to obtain application form.

Duly completed application form along with crossed Demand Draft for Rs.150.00 should reach the Director at the above address latest by 26-07-2008.

The candidates (excluding sponsored category and Foreign Nationals with Foreign qualification) have to appear for an entrance examination to be held on 05-08-2008 at Mysore / New Delhi / Kolkatta.

The place and time of examination will be intimated to the candidate.
