The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India COMPETITIVE WRITTEN TEST for admission to MBBS course (84 seats) in TWO stages: PMT-2012 SCREENING and PMT-2012 MAIN, and for BDS (38 seats), BAMS* (50 seats) and B. Pharm. (33 seats) courses in ONE stage: PMT-2012 Screening. PMT-2012 SCREENING shall be held on Wednesday, the 16th May 2012 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres to screen candidates for eligibility to appear in PMT-2012 MAIN examination for MBBS course which will be held on Sunday, the 17th June 2012 at Varanasi Centre only. For BDS/BAMS*/B.Pharm. courses, candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PMT-2012 SCREENING only.

Qualification:

Passed Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together;

• MBBS/BDS/BAMS – a minimum of 50% marks for General and 45% for General-PC candidates and 40% marks for OBC/SC/ST and respective PC candidates;
• B.Pharm. – a minimum of 60% marks for General / OBC and respective PC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

Age Limit:

Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2012 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1996 and on or before 31st December, 1987 need not apply).

Application Fees:

BY CASH : Rs.1500/- for GEN/OBC and Rs.1000/- for SC/ST candidates.

How to Apply:

From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1600/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 1100 for SC/ST candidates of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of “The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU” payable at Varanasi. Application form will be sent by Speed / Registered Post. However, Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC (write candidate’s name and address on the back of DD). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm ´ 6 cm size must also accompany it. The requisition for PMT Application Form should be super scribed “Request for Application Form for PMT-2012, BHU”. Last date of requisition for PMT form by post is 27.02.2012. Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/ without Bank Code No. & Seal) shall not be accepted. NOTE: (a) M.O./I.P.O./Cheques shall NOT be accepted under any circumstances. Application Forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi-221005 can be obtained by POST only and not in person upto 27.02.2012.
