The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India COMPETITIVE WRITTEN TEST for admission to MBBS course (84 seats) in TWO stages: PMT-2012 SCREENING and PMT-2012 MAIN, and for BDS (38 seats), BAMS* (50 seats) and B. Pharm. (33 seats) courses in ONE stage: PMT-2012 Screening. Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT-2012) is an All India examination conducted by The M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara on behalf of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The REGISTRATION (process for application by the Applicants) will be ONLINE for GPAT-2012 Examination (the actual examination will be a paper/pencil examination).

The M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara is the sole authority for conducting the examination and declaring the result for GPAT- 2012.

Bio-Informatics National Certification (BINC) Examination

Jawaharlal Nehru University , on behalf of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, will conduct the BioInformatics National Certification (BINC) examination. The objective of this examination is to identify bioinformatics professionals. This will help potential employers in recruitment of candidates having exceptionally good Bioinformatics skills.

BioInformatics National Certification

Qualification: Graduates in any science, agriculture, veterinary, medicine, pharmacy, engineering and technology are eligible to appear for the examination. They need not have any formal training, diploma or certificate in bioinformatics.

Fees:

The examination fee is Rs.600/- for candidates from Open category and Rs.450/- for reserved category candidates (as per government of India rule). The examination is scheduled on 25-26th February 2012.

Medical Entrance Examination

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination only for 15 per cent seats in the Government Medical/Dental Colleges in the country and candidates can opt for question paper either in English or in Hindi. For the remaining 85 per cent seats, the States conduct their own entrance examination and have the liberty to conduct it in their respective regional languages and, as such, there is no ban on use of regional languages as a medium for medical entrance examination

The Supreme Court, in Simran Jain case, has accepted the proposal of the Medical Council of India (MCI) to conduct common entrance test viz. National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) medical courses in the country and directed the Council to take such steps as are necessary to implement the NEET.

Eligibility:

Candidates who fulfill the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test, namely:

• He/she is a citizen of India

• He/she must have studied and passed courses leading to the award of Bachelor’s Degree scoring at least 50%, in case of SC/ST 40% marks in aggregate from a college recognized by the DCI for MDS candidates and MCI for MD/MS candidates.

• He/she has completed or is completing compulsory rotatory internship on or before 30th April 2012
• Must be less than 45 years of age as on 30-4-2012
